CHURCH HISTORY
The first meeting of the First Baptist Church of Polson was held on December 12, 1912, with the Reverend Thomas Huxley of Kalispell preaching. In May of 1919, the church decide to build its first building, constructing it at 1st Street and 7th Avenue West being "no less than 26 feet by 36 feet." In 1938 , the chuch became independent of the Northern Baptist Convention and in 1943 voted to fellowship with the General Association of Regular Baptist churches. On September 20, 1959, a new auditorium was dedicated having received a grant of $1,500 from the Baptist Builder's Club.
Our present facility was occupied in September of 1989, having been constructed primarily by the donated labor of the dedicated men and women of the church. Until Christ comes, we pray it will be a place where the believers in Christ meet and the Bible is carefully taught leading many to faith in Jesus Christ.
